Our Privacy Policy
When working with you we will be collecting personal information from you in order to deliver personalised financial advice which is suitable for you, including assessing you needs, recommending products, and managing your policies or investments.
The information we collect may include your identity details, health and financial information, personal circumstances, your goals and instructions.
All staff employed by Liberty Life have access to all client files, and in addition to Liberty Life staff other parties may access this information as required by law or for the purposes of providing specific advice to you in accordance with your instructions or our agreed Scope of Service.
Who we share you information with:
Insurers and Investment product providers whom we are considering for your needs
Professional compliance and audit assessors from time to time as required to meet our regulatory and licencing obligations.

Legal basis
Some information is required to be collected under New Zealand law, including obligations under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 and Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.
Use of AI tools and recording:
We may use secure technology tools, including AI-assisted tools, to record, transcribe, and summarise meetings to ensure accuracy and efficiency. These tools may process your information through third-party systems, which may be located overseas. By continuing to engage our services after being notified, you consent to the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of your personal information as described above. If you prefer not to be recorded, we can take manual notes instead.
You may withdraw your consent to specific uses (such as meeting recording) at any time by notifying us, although this may affect our ability to provide services.”
Your rights
In accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 you are entitled to access any such information we collect and hold on you, and also to have noted any corrections to such information.
Should you require a copy of any information we hold we shall be happy to provide a full copy at our cost, but will always retain original records for legal and compliance requirements. Records are stored in secure premises and on secured computer systems at our place of business.
Specific Notification
On those occasions when we obtain private or confidential information from a third party we will:
Explicitly name the source of information
Describe types of data or information received
Clearly advise what our specific purpose is
Identify other potential recipients
Obtain your acknowledgement and consent
