Protect what matters most

A simple but powerful philosophy worth adopting and sharing with you is to live your life in the juxtaposition of what matters most and what you can control. This philosophy is brilliantly illustrated by Carl Richards' sketch.

Sketch

As for many fathers, the arrival of my first born child this year made me reassess what matters most. A child brings added responsibility, unpredictability and variability to life. Life's natural laws mean there are events outside of my control but the unwanted and unexpected can be managed. As fathers, we need to take action and if you're like me, discharging my responsibilities onto others is not an acceptable solution. Nor is hope and worry.

I took action using tools at my control to build what I like to call a 'Wealth Toolbox''. A Wealth Toolbox contains key tools that will guide success and protect what matters most. My Wealth Toolbox includes insurance tools tailored to my personal circumstances. Insurance is a smart tool as it offers a guaranteed and immediate safety net - accessing 'choices' in times of hardship with money being the vehicle to those choices. In a general sense, the power of choice is what matters most and insurance is what you can control.

Life is full of obstacles and challenges (a.k.a. risks). Successful people recognise these risks and put a plan in place to eliminate or manage their risks (if it can not be eliminated).

Do you have a Wealth Toolbox? If not then reach out today to a qualified Authorised Financial Adviser whom can help you built it.

Empower yourself today, focus on the things you can control to protect what matters most.
